Course Directors: Gene Orringer, David Perry, Bruce Wicks, and Jeff Houpt


This is a 10-session didactic/discussion set of meetings which covers essential topics to succeed as a chair at UNC. It is open to the most recently hired departmental chairs and their chief administrators. Led by four senior administrators, it offers not only what you “need to know”, but also “how to use it.” For example, the financial session will include how to read a budget page, along with strategies for longer term budgeting. Likewise, in human resources the policies will be presented, but also the strategies needed to successfully implement them.
