This experience is offered to Chairs, Center Directors, and Associate or Assistant deans. People might choose this experience for the following reasons:
to improve performance in general
to work on specific needed skills
to understand one’s strengths and weaknesses to plan for future career opportunities
to expand one’s conceptual understanding of what they are doing in their current leadership position.
As a general rule, coaching sessions cover three months to a year. During that time, two or three evaluative sessions are scheduled at first, followed by bi-weekly or monthly meetings, either in person or by phone. All of the information shared is confidential and is not available to anyone else.
