Chris Lindsay (MS2)
How do you manage to stay balanced and healthy in spite of the busy med school schedule?
In my opinion, studying and personal health/social-life are not mutually exclusive. I partition my life by recognize the how much time I need to study and taking the rest of the time not to worry about school at all!
Why do you want to become an advocate and what three qualities will you bring to the job?
I am applying to be an advocate because I am a passionate teacher of others. At Virginia Tech, I helped other undergraduates as an individual tutor, as well as a leader of the major pre-med group on campus. I want to share my excitement and experience here at Carolina Med, to help the incoming students to have the best first-year ever!
What’s the most important piece of advice you would give to an MS1 at the beginning of the year?
Take time to reflect on the things that are important to you, and be intentional about holding onto them during medical school. This will take effort, but it’s worth it because it will help you to stay motivated and excited about medicine.
What is your favorite artery, organ, or nerve; and why?
My favorite bone (bones are organs, right?) is the patella, because it is king of the sesamoid bones.
Tell us your favorite joke (PG-13 max, please).
Why does Snoop-dog carry an umbrella?.... Fo’drizzle
If you had a theme song that played every time you entered a room, what would it be?
