Health Literacy Scholars Selected

Thirteen diverse professionals from across the state have been selected for The 2013 Faculty Development in Health Literacy and Aging course set to begin January 25th.  Scholars include educators, nursing faculty, social workers and primary care providers.  The course teaches enhanced communication skills to address patients who have low health literacy.  Low health literacy means they are less able to collect, process and act on health information and this results in poor patient compliance and increased mortality.  Congratulations to our scholars.
