UNC Geriatric Fellowship Program

The Geriatric Fellowship Program at the University of North Carolina offers clinical and research training in the care of complicated older patients with an emphasis on evidence based care, a focus on academics, and a foundation in education.

We offer a training program that can be tailored to the individual career needs of each Fellow.  Our fellows go on to become clinical geriatricians, medical directors, academic faculty, researchers, and double boarded sub-specialists! Several of our recent fellows have joined our program through the ABIM Research Pathway for training, we will have our third Geriatric Oncology Fellow joining us in 2013, and our first ABIM approved joint Geriatric Nephrology Fellow will be entering her final year of training.

Our faculty are viewed by the students and residents as some of the best and most active teachers at the School of Medicine.  We feel that the educational needs of each fellow should take priority in our training program.

Please contact us if you have questions or would like to learn more about our program.
