The Geriatric Evaluation Clinic (GEC) is an interdisciplinary specialty clinic at the University of North Carolina Hospitals.  The GEC assists older people who have complex medical, social, and functional problems. Patients are seen by an experienced interdisciplinary team consisting of a geriatrician, a nurse practitioner, a social worker, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, and a pharmacist.

The GEC clinicians see patients on Mondays at the UNC Ambulatory Care Center (shown in the photo above, right) on the third floor. Appointments may be made by calling 919-966-1459. Your doctor may refer you or you may call the clinic for an appointment without a referral. Our brochure that tells all about our services, physicians and other clinical specialists, and details about making an appointment can be found at this link: http://www.med.unc.edu/aging/geriatric/GECflyer_02_20_08.pdf.

The director of the clinic is Holly Jean Coward, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
