Northwest AHEC of Wake Forest University School of Medicine Celebrates 35th Anniversary

Northwest AHEC of Wake Forest University School of Medicine and part of the NC AHEC Program celebrated its 35th Anniversary by hosting celebrations at each of the three medical centers where its libraries are located with the final celebration in Winston-Salem. Staff from each of these medical centers and staff from partners/collaborators in the surrounding counties were invited to attend. The locations and celebratory dates were: Watauga Medical Center in Boone on October 21, 2008; Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory on January 22, 2009; Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury on March 20, 2009; and Wake Forest University Deacon Tower at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem on May 21, 2009.

At each of these events, the Northwest AHEC staff created and presented awards to recognize long term partners and new supporters of Northwest AHEC including medical centers, preceptors, educational institutions, etc.
