Share the Health in Winston-Salem
On January 9, 2010, WFU School of Medicine students held their 11th annual “Share the Health” Fair in Winston-Salem. The health fair is designed to encourage community members, especially those who are medically underserved, to become active participants in their own health care. This year, more than 200 student volunteers participated, including medical students, students in the Physician Assistant program, WFU undergraduates, and 24 physicians and residents serving more than 970 community members. More than 1,400 free health screenings were provided. The “Share the Health” Fair is sponsored by WFU School of Medicine and strongly supported by Northwest AHEC and the NC AHEC Program.
