Partners in Providing a Military-Friendly Workplace

The North Carolina Employee Assistance Providers Association partnered with the Citizen Soldier Support Program (CSSP) at UNC-Chapel Hill and Greensboro AHEC to develop the online course, “Managing Transitions: The Role of the EA Provider in Facilitating a Military Friendly Workplace.” As part of the Treating the Invisible Wounds of War Series, the continuing education course addresses deployment issues that impact the workplace or present in an EA setting and covers responses that are appropriate within the professional role of the EA Provider (EAP). Grant funding for this project was provided by the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Foundation.

Currently, the course is being piloted and surveyed by 200 EAPs from North and South Carolina to provide feedback for revisions. In the Fall, there are plans to market it to Wal-Mart and other EA settings nationally.
