Southern Regional AHEC Joins U.S. Army to Present “Breaking the Stigma”

On Thursday, April 11, 2013, The United States Army and Southern Regional AHEC (SR-AHEC) presented the video, “Breaking the Stigma” as a free program to mental health and human service professionals. The video discussed service members’ experiences after returning from combat areas.

The program was designed for professionals such as psychologists, counselors, case managers, marriage and family therapists, and others who work with services members and their families. The program’s objectives were to discuss the challenges and strengths in working with service members and identifying information and resources for helping professionals.
