Wake AHEC staff welcomed LueChandra McKnight, MBA, as project coordinator for continuing medical education in the fall of 2013. McKnight (photo above) was in the US Army National Guard and has bachelors’ and master’s degrees in business. She has worked as a customer representative, data operator, technical specialist, and clinical nutrition technician. McKnight understands the importance of continuing education and strives to transmit knowledge to generations to come.
Northwest AHEC promoted Reed Burger the new role of assistant director, finance & administration. Burger (photo right) worked during the past 18 months as Northwest AHEC’s financial analyst. He is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at Gardner-Webb University. In his new role, he will handle the finance and human resources aspects for Northwest AHEC as well as the office of continuing medical education. He will supervise Leigh Watkins, accounting tech IV, who manages the financial activity of AHEC activities, and Marie Simos, associate administrative coordinator, who manages day-to-day operations and supervises the administrative support staff.
