Alan Brown, MSW, LCSW, is Associate Director, NC Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program. Alan has a BS degree in psychology from Guilford College, Greensboro, NC and completed his MSW at UNC-CH, Chapel Hill, NC. Alan worked in community mental health settings before joining Greensboro AHEC in 1990 as Director of Mental Health Education. In 1995 he joined the NC AHEC Program Office as Associate Director of the Offices of Regional Primary Care Education which oversees support for community-based education among the nine AHECs. Since joining this office his duties have expanded to include serving as primary liaison for Allied Health, Continuing Medical Education & Pharmacy for the statewide AHEC program.
