UNC Division of Clinical Laboratory Science

Faculty Positions posted 1/2013
The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, UNC School of Medicine, is excited about a unique opportunity to recruit for two faculty positions due to recent retirements. The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science offers a baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science – Molecular Diagnostic Science track. Responsibilities include teaching on-line courses, on-campus courses, and coordination of clinical education courses. The faculty members will also be expected to participate in the service and research missions of the Division of CLS. A complete position description is available here.

Qualifications: A minimum of a Master’s Degree (Ph.D preferred), clinical laboratory teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly excellence or potential are required. For one position, the candidate must have or be eligible for molecular biology certification (ASCP-BOC or ABMG). For the other position, the candidate must have or be eligible for generalist certification (ASCP-BOC). Clinical experience and expertise in molecular diagnostics, microbiology, or clinical chemistry are highly desirable. Positions available July, 2013.
