Position: Mycobacteriology Medical Technologist II

Position description: This Medical Laboratory Technologist II position provides full-time clinical support for the Mycobacteriology laboratory in the Microbiology Unit.  This position is responsible for specimen processing, culture set-up and examination, and Brightfield and fluorescent microscopy per laboratory protocol. The successful candidate will process sputum, blood, stool and other clinical specimens and perform tests that aid in the identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other mycobacteria species using conventional and molecular methods. This position provides training to other staff and is cross-trained to perform the functions of other positions within the Mycobacteriology laboratory.
Salary Range: $39,632 - $45,500 annually.

Position: Quality Assurance Consultant

Position description: This is a brand-new opportunity at the NC State Laboratory of Public Health! The Quality Assurance Consultant will assist the QA Manager in providing a robust and dynamic Quality Management System (QMS), and assist with the implementation and oversight of a new document control and compliance software solution. The QA Consultant will also play an active role in clinical laboratory audits, QA team meetings, investigations of non-conforming events, and preparation for certification inspections.
Salary Range: $44,347 to $56,980 annually.

Position: Special Serology Laboratory Supervisor

Position Description:
This position serves as the supervisor for the Special Serology laboratory in the Virology/Serology unit. This position provides technical and managerial leadership for five laboratory personnel who perform various highly technical tests for the detection of antibodies and/or nucleic acids for a variety of infectious disease agents. Types of tests performed include indirect fluorescent antibody assays, enzyme immunoassays, and molecular assays.
Salary Range:
$48,195 to $56,971 annually.

Position: Newborn Screening Molecular Laboratory Supervisor

Position Description: The primary purpose of the NBS Molecular laboratory is to provide laboratory services to detect DNA mutations or molecular markers associated with SCID, cystic fibrosis, and galactosemia. This position manages the daily operations of this laboratory and is responsible for ensuring that the tests and results provided by the laboratory meet the standards of quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
Salary Range: $48,195 to $64,336 annually.

Position: Viral Culture/Rabies Medical Laboratory Technologist II

Position Description: This position serves as an advanced technologist in a laboratory that performs rabies necropsy, cell culture, viral culture, and molecular technical assays for the detection of viruses causing various infectious diseases. This position also provides technical leadership and training for other personnel.
