The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science, in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, UNC School of Medicine, invites applications for a faculty position. The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science offers a baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science – Molecular Diagnostic Science (MDS) track. Responsibilities will include teaching and directing student research projects. Other teaching responsibilities in CLS or MDS courses will be based on expertise. The faculty member will be expected to establish a funded research program and collaborate with other researchers in the UNC School of Medicine. The faculty member will also be expected to participate in the service mission of the Division of CLS (e.g. committees, continuing education). A complete position description is available here.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree, clinical laboratory experience, and evidence of scholarly excellence or potential are required. Clinical laboratory certification as a generalist or specialist, a history of externally funding research projects, teaching experience in a clinical laboratory science educational program and a demonstrated ability to establish collaborative working relationships with faculty members in the clinical laboratory field are highly desirable.
