Current and former students in the Division of Clinical Laboratory Science received scholarships from the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. Jena Seddon (CLS, class of 2017) was awarded an ASCLS Alpha Mu Tau Scholarship, and Michelle Campbell (MDS Class of 2018)  was awarded an ASCLS Education and Research Fund Scholarship. Both scholarships will be presented at the ASCLS Annual Meeting in San Diego in August 2017.

Seddon says she is "incredibly honored and extremely excited" to receive one of only 14 Alpha Mu Tau scholarships awarded nationwide. "It will definitely allow me to stress a little less about trying to pay off my student loans and to spend more time enjoying working in the transfusion services department at Duke Medical Center!"

Campbell received the sole graduate award from the ASCLS Education and Research Fund. She says, "I feel fortunate and excited... This scholarship will not only help fund my education, but is helping to allow me to relocate to North Carolina for a semester of clinical rotations at Duke University Medical Center. I am grateful that a professional organization, like ASCLS, has resources available to support laboratory professionals who want to continue their education."
