The Department of Health Sciences and the Division of Clinical Laboratory Science provide a variety of options for cost and aid. Questions? Email our student services office. For scholarships with a need-based component, it may also be necessary to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order for the award to be released to the student by the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid. Our FAFSA code is 002974.

Scholarships for UNC Clinical Laboratory Science Students

Louise M. Ward Scholarships

A bequest from the estate of Louise M. Ward, a former director of the Division, has provided funds to assist and reward students at UNC-Chapel Hill who are studying to become clinical laboratory scientists.

Susan Lanning-Taylor Scholarship

A gift from Susan Lanning-Taylor (’85), with matching funds from our loyalty fund, has provided for a scholarship for a clinical laboratory science student. Financial need is considered in addition to the criteria listed above.

School-Based Tuition

The Department of Health Sciences sets aside a portion of our School-Based Tuition receipts to provide financial aid for graduate students based on need. The number and amount of awards varies based on the number of eligible students and each student’s level of need.
