Supporting CLS

The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science depends on private financial support to maintain its record of excellence and provide students with the best possible educational experiences. From purchasing microscopes and other state-of-the-art equipment, to providing scholarships for students and funding for faculty research, private gifts are crucial to the program’s continued success. “I always enjoyed science as a child and was determined to start a career in the subject that I loved most. When I was accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Clinical Laboratory Science major captivated me. I was intrigued by the different opportunities the major offered and the course of the program. I love knowing that what I am doing is for the care of the patient. I have always enjoyed making a difference in someone’s life and being able to do that on the daily basis is the best feeling in the world. I am extremely grateful to be awarded with the Louise M. Ward Scholarship because it allows me to keep doing what I love and fosters the knowledge that there are people who want to help students like me fulfill their dreams.”
