    The North Carolina Rehabilitation Association was founded in 1956, and is an affiliate of the National Rehabilitation Association. NCRA is a nonprofit 501(c) (4) organization, with 501(c) (3) designation for their T.L. McClellan Scholarship Fund. The purpose of the association is to advance rehabilitation for all individuals with disabilities.

NCRE advocates up-to-date education and training and the maintenance of professional standards in the field of rehabilitation.
