New Faculty Research: Communication, Cognition, and Caregiver Considerations for Patients with TBIs or Other Cognitive Impairments
Blaise Morrison:
Improving Patient Treatment Outcomes through Caregiver-Focused Interventions.  
This presentation will provide a brief overview of research on the quality of life of caregivers of patients with cognitive impairments. Plans for a future project involving the investigation of the impact of caregiver-focused interventions on patient treatment outcomes will be discussed.
Lindsey Byom:
Cognitive-Communication after Traumatic Brain Injury: Considerations for Older Adults
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) can result in chronic changes in cognition that can negatively affect communication in everyday life. Understanding cognition-communication relationships is critical to treatment development across the lifespan and in this talk we will discuss additional considerations for older adults with TBI.
