As our campus becomes more diverse, the University continues its dedication to assure accessibility for everyone.  As part of the University's commitment, they have a new series of events, "Empowering Carolina," that begin this month.  These presentations and activities are focused on increasing awareness of disabilities and resources that are available on our campus and in our community.

The first event is a panel of people with invisible disabilities sharing their experiences next Thursday, April 14th from 4:30 - 5:30 at the Student Union.  It is sponsored by UNC-CH Accessibility Resources and Center and the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling division's  student-led Rehabilitation Counseling Association.

Future events include learning more about employees with disabilities here on campus and a wheelchair basketball tournament.  There are links to register for each event.

Since all of our Allied Health disciplines work with various disabilities, this is a great opportunity for increased learning and awareness of disabilities that will strengthen our practice.
