Several graduate programs housed within the Department of Allied Health Sciences are ranked near the top in U.S. News & World Report’s annual publication.
Several graduate programs housed in the UNC School of Medicine’s Department of Allied Health Sciences have received top recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s 2016-2017 graduate school rankings. The publication has released annual rankings since 1983, including rankings for health science programs.
Five of the department’s divisions received top rankings, all of which have previously appeared in the annual report publication. Each program and ranking, their respective divisions, and their directors include:
- Audiology (4th), Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, Dr. Jackson Roush
- Occupational Therapy (9th), Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, Dr. Ruth Humphry
- Speech-Language Pathology (12th), Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, Dr. Jackson Roush
- Physical Therapy (15th), Division of Physical Therapy, Dr. Debby Givens
- Rehabilitation Counseling (21st), Division of Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling
