Admissions

The Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at UNC is looking for applicants with a blend of academic ability, experience working with people, service orientation, and a belief in the future of occupational therapy. We are also interested in recruiting individuals who represent the diverse population that occupational therapy serves. As with any health care field, multi-cultural experience is a prerequisite to being an effective practitioner. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is committed to equality of educational opportunity. The Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, in keeping with the policies of the University of North Carolina, does not discriminate in offering access to its educational programs and activities on the basis of race, color, gender, age, national origin, religion, creed, disability, veteran's status, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

NOTE TO PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS: The Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy welcomes your interest and offers recruitment and admissions advising to interested applicants. We ask, however, that you thoroughly investigate the information available on the website and evaluate your prerequisite courses and preparation according to those guidelines before asking for a transcript evaluation or assessment of your candidacy. Please see the linked documents above for prerequisite details. We host information sessions on a monthly basis and will prioritize those sessions over individual meetings.

It is not necessary the prospective applicants undergo a transcript review prior to applying. If you have questions regarding your prior coursework meeting prerequisite requirements, please send an email specifying the prerequisite(s) in question and course description(s) from your relevant coursework to the admissions coordinator at the address below.
