Funded
research projects in the Division of Physical Therapy includes
projects on the effects of constraint induced therapy on patients with stroke,
paretic limb loading during stroke recovery, evaluation of hip protectors in community-dwelling
older adults at risk of falls , early indicators of functional decline in older
adults, enhancing function, fitness and participation in adolescents with
cerebral palsy, the effect of aquatic resistive exercise on persons with cerebral
palsy, use of Dance Dance Revolution/Playstation as an intervention to decreasing
obesity, reduction in sedentary time, and increase in motor learning in 7-8 yr
old children and the WATCH project which includes Telehealth videoconferencing
for early intervention for infants and children.
