Vicki Mercer, PT, PhD received her BS in physical therapy from the University of Missouri, her MS in physical therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill, and her PhD in movement science from Washington University in St. Louis. She is involved in exam development (advanced item writing task force) for the national physical therapy licensure examination, and provides continuing education workshops for physical therapists. Dr. Mercer’s clinical practice focuses on neurological and geriatric rehabilitation. She has particular expertise in treating balance impairments that lead to decreased mobility and/or increased risk of falling. Many of her patients have age-related changes in balance abilities or have been diagnosed with neurological disorders such as stroke or Parkinson's disease. Dr. Mercer’s own research on balance and motor control informs her approach to the care of her patients.
