ICE

Integrated Clinical Experience (ICE) students are physical therapy students in the 3rd year of the UNC Doctor of Physical Therapy program.  During this elective course, students perform new patient examinations, provide patient intervention services and document the care provided in coordination with and under the direct supervision of a licensed faculty clinician.  This is an opportunity for the DPT student to obtain clinical experience and instruction beyond the required clinical rotations of the DPT program.  The overarching goal of ICE is to provide students with faculty clinician mentorship to build confidence, clinical reasoning and professional skills while providing excellent patient care at UPT clinics.  In conjunction with classroom training, we believe ICE contributes to the strongest clinical education possible for the next generation of physical therapists.
