Arianna Timko, a master’s degree candidate in the UNC Division of Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology, recently won the University Diversity Award in the graduate/professional student category.
The Division of Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology celebrated the generosity of its scholarship donors and the accomplishments of its scholarship recipients at the annual Department of Allied Health Sciences Scholarships and Awards Brunch on November 3.
About 65 RCP alumni, current students, and faculty members came together to exchange information and ideas at a reception held September 27, 2012, in Bondurant Hall.
Eileen Burker, PhD, has been named Director of the Division of Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology at UNC Chapel Hill. Lee McLean, Chair of the Department of Allied Health Sciences and Associate Dean of the UNC School of Medicine, announced Burker’s appointment in July. Burker had previously served as Division Director in the late 1990s.
Dr. Mark Fleming (’98) sponsored a lunch and learn session for current RCP students on November 12 at UNC.
Monty Honeycutt (’99) made a generous donation to purchase a chair for the RCP Client Observation Room in Bondurant Hall in honor of the late Mary Coble, a former coworker who helped Honeycutt navigate the early years of his career.
Several students and faculty members from the UNC Chapel Hill Division of Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology shared their research at the 2011 North Carolina Rehabilitation Association (NCRA) Conference October 26-28 in Wrightsville Beach, N.C., and the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE) Conference in Arlington, Va., October 31-November 1.
The Department of Allied Health Sciences hosted its fifth annual Student Scholarships and Awards Brunch on November 12, 2011, at the Rizzo Center in Chapel Hill. Each DAHS division had the opportunity to acknowledge the accomplishments of its scholarship recipients and the generosity of its scholarship supporters.
