Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy

Occupational science PhD students study a what people do – the everyday activities and routines of everyday life. This includes things such as the play of children with autism, the experience of caregivers of people with dementia, or the creation of home for refugees.

Human Movement Science Curriculum

PhD students in human movement science study biomechanics and issues related to Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis, among others.

Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences

The PhD Program in Speech and Hearing Sciences is focused on preparing scholars who seek academic and research positions. The areas of study among the PhD students range from working with infants/toddlers to aging adults and cover varied types of communication, feeding/swallowing, learning, social, and cognitive disabilities and disorders.
