Strategic Plan

Strategic Planning Initiatives for the 2016-2017 Academic Year

The following initiatives are the focus of strategic planning during the 2016-2017 academic year:

  • Seek approval for a new faculty position in neurogenic speech-language pathology with expertise in traumatic brain injury or a related area;
  • Seek approval for a new faculty position in hearing science;
  • Study the feasibility and implications of offering a professional doctorate in speech-language pathology (DSLP) at UNC-Chapel Hill;
  • Explore the feasibility of developing an interdisciplinary balance/vestibular clinic at UNC-CH;
  • Explore collaboration with UNC Hospitals to provide expanded clinical audiology services;
  • Because of the demand for our graduate programs and our high volume of well qualified applicants, explore the feasibility and resources required for a modest increase in class size for the MS and AuD programs;
  • Appoint a new MS/SLP coordinator beginning July 1, 2017
  • Appoint a new division director, beginning July 1, 2017
