Biography

Raised in a large, military family, Patricia has lived all over the U.S. and even in Germany. Don’t ask her where she is from! Her love of music and teaching initially led her to pursue a career in music education; however, her plans changed after stumbling upon an intro Communication Disorders course in undergrad. She was hooked! Patricia went on to graduate with a bachelor’s of science in Speech and Hearing Science (cum laude, with departmental honors for undergraduate research). Patricia is also a proud graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill’s Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program. She is excited to continue with UNC as a Clinical Assistant Professor and audiologist. Her responsibilities include hearing evaluations, fitting and dispensing hearing technology, aural rehabilitation groups and supervising UNC’s Au.D. students during their clinical rotations at the UNC HCC.

Patricia is a Fellow of the Academy of Audiology and is clinically certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Board of Audiology (ABA). She is a licensed audiologist in the state of North Carolina.
