As more Americans search for hearing solutions, many are turning to the internet. While not regulated by the FDA, Personal Sound Amplifying Products or PSAPs may provide interim support for those with mild hearing loss who are not yet hearing aid candidates. At the UNC HCC, we recommend that patients who purchase PSAPs have their devices verified using real-ear measurements to make sure that they are safe and effective.
