Research

Faculty members are involved in various types of collaborative and interdisciplinary research across the lifespan.  The broad scope of research endeavors address oral, written and augmentative communication and communication disorders including autism, communication development in multicultural populations, hearing and psychoacoustics, literacy, and neurologic communication disorders in adults.   Our research efforts align with the Division’s mission to advance the study of human communication processes through prevention, diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, and hearing disorders.

UNC-CH Laboratory/Clinical Teaching Facilites

New: Friday Research Forum -The DSHS is offering a presentation series devoted to research and related scholarly activity in the area of communication sciences and disorders. Presentations are open to UNC faculty, students, and invited guests or collaborators who share an interest in the content area. We will meet on most Friday mornings between 11 am and 12 noon (see schedule below). During the 2008 Spring Semester the location is room 4074 on the 4th floor of Bondurant Hall.
