International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) offers various programs designed to assist foreign students and scholars with adjustment to life in the United States and Chapel Hill. The introductory session provides an overview of academic, immigration, health, safety and legal issues as well adjustment programs for new students.

The International Student Orientation Programs normally occur just before classes begin. As soon as the dates and locations of the orientation sessions are scheduled, we will post them below. If your specific orientation session is TBD (to be determined), please check again at a later date as we will post the information as soon as it is available. Note: All new international students are required to attend their specific orientation program as listed below:

Health Insurance Verification Form Deadline: September 4, 2009


Immunization Deadline: 30 days after classes begin. Students will be withdrawn from the University if immunization requirements have not been met by the deadline. More information about immunizations can be found here.
