We understand that your decision to enter treatment was not an easy one. However, we believe it was one of the most important decisions you will ever make, as you begin to face the illness of Chemical Dependency and/or other psychiatric issues that brought you here. The ASAP staff will support you in this initial step in the process of recovery.

Chemical Dependency and psychiatric illness are treatable. No matter how hopeless you may feel right now, treatment can help. It will not be easy and will take hard work and difficult decisions on your part. However, it can be done. Following the principles you will learn, you will soon find yourself living one day at a time, enjoying life again and re-establishing important relationships.

In the recovery phase of treatment, you will learn about your disease and begin the psychological and spiritual healing process. Throughout your ASAP stay, our staff will be working with you preparing for discharge and follow-up treatment. Treatment is just the beginning. You will leave with detailed discharge plans, which are essential to your continued recovery. Staff will continue to support your new life and encourage your growth in recovery.

We welcome you to UNC ASAP and applaud your decision to put the pain of addiction in the past. Once again, there is hope for your future, one day at a time.
