Kathy Sulik, Ph.D., professor in the department of cell and developmental biology and director of the fetal toxicology division in the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies, was the recipient for the 2009 Henry Rosett Award. The award, presented in June at the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Study Group (FASDSG) in San Diego, CA, hSulik Awardonors individuals for outstanding long-term contributions to research in the field of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.


The FASDSG has a membership of approximately 425 clinicians and researchers. The binding interests of the membership are the desire to fully understand the etiology of fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), describe the characteristics of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders at multiple levels, and devise ways to improve the lives of children, adolescents, and adults with FAS and other alcohol-related disabilities.
