Ways to Give

The Loyalty Fund is the annual fund for the UNC Medical Alumni Association that provides an unrestricted resource designated primarily for student scholarships and educational activities for which no other funding source exists. Your annual gift provides a dependable source of funding with the flexibility to be allocated as the needs of the students and institution change.

Annual Giving Levels:

  • Annual Scholarship - $10,000+ Annually

Provide a talented, motivated student with opportunities for excellent medical training. Gifts at the Annual Scholarship level must be received by April 1st prior to the academic year for which the scholarship will be awarded.

  • 1879 Society - $5,000+ Annually

The year 1879 marks the establishment of the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. A number of extraordinary people provided critical leadership necessary for the School's development and growth. The 1879 Society recognizes your generous contribution at the leadership gift level of $5,000+ annually.

  • Dean's Circle - $2,000 Annually

Honoring all current and former deans of the UNC School of Medicine, the Dean's Circle celebrates the visionary leadership of those who have been pivotal in shaping health care throughout the state of North Carolina and worldwide.

  • Associate - $1,000 Annually

The Loyalty Fund Associate level has been the foundation of leadership giving for medical alumni since the establishment of the Loyalty Fund in 1989 at the UNC School of Medicine. Generations of medical alumni proudly give each year and are recognized for participating in the development of medicine at UNC by generously contributing $1,000 annually.

As an Associate or Junior Associate, your involvement is not limited to financial support. Associates receive invitations to Chapel Hill to participate in academic and extracurricular programs to broaden their relationship with the UNC School of Medicine.

    • Junior Associate (Graduates of 4 years or less - $250; Graduates 5-9 years - $500+)
To encourage our younger medical alumni to become involved now in helping to build the future of medicine at UNC, the Junior Associate level recognizes the generous contributions of our newest graduates.
