As future physicians we must realize that we are part of an increasingly connected world. In our ultimate quest to improve the lives of others, we must not forget about those in developing countries. As Chair of the Global Committee, you will assume the active role of promoting awareness of global health issues and directing events/projects that can effect changes at a global scale. Topics of interest could include neglected tropical diseases, patenting and licensing of health care technologies, and global disparities. Potential partners to get started/coordinate with include the faculty from the School of Public/Global Health and the student groups Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM) and Infectious Diseases Interest Group, Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), International Health Forum (IHF), MEDWorld (Medical Equipment for the Developing World).
