Are there particular issues that you care about? People that you’d like to bring to speak on campus? Service projects that you’d like organize? If so, let us help connect you with the resources and funds to do that by becoming an Action Committee leader.
We currently have openings for leaders of the following action committees:
·Community & Environmental Health
· Gender & Sexuality
· Global Health
· Health Policy
· Medical Education
· Race & Ethnicity in Health
· Refugee and Immigrant Health
· Wellness & Student Life
If you are interested about any of the above issues, we encourage you to apply to lead one of these committees. Getting involved with an Action Committee is a great way that you can take control of the curriculum at UNC, to get to know other students across the country who have similar interests and is also a great way to get involved with the leadership of AMSA both locally and nationally.
I know that it is still early in the semester, but do think about it, read about the action committees on the AMSA website, and email Dan if you have any questions. Applications are due by September 15 at 5pm.
I also wanted to put in a plug for joining AMSA. You do not need to be an official AMSA member to apply for Action Committee leadership but being a member does come with lots of perks that you can read about on the AMSA site and you will be supporting your national student organization!
