Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship

The Obstetric Anesthesiology fellowship program at UNC is a non-ACGME accredited fellowship program, consisting of 6 months as an obstetric anesthesia fellow and 6 months as a faculty member at the clinical instructor level. The fellowship is affiliated with the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals. The fellowship program is centered at the Main UNC Hospital campus. We currently have 1 position per year.
The Obstetric Anesthesia faculty consists of a core group of 8 board certified anesthesiologists, half of whom have received specialty training in obstetric anesthesia. These faculty members have a passion and expertise in caring for pregnant patients. UNC Hospitals has >3500 deliveries a year, many of them high risk. We are a tertiary care facility with a level 3 NICU as well as a collaborative Maternal Fetal Medicine division.
