This high-fidelity simulation curriculum spans the duration of residency. As early as the CA1 year, residents learn to lead emergencies and rare case events, with an emphasis on deliberate practice, teamwork, leadership, and crisis resource management (CRM). A modern, fully responsive computerized patient, surgeon and nurse actors, and simulated patient care environment create a clinical lab in which residents have full autonomy. Post-scenario debriefing ensures both medical knowledge and CRM principles are explored.
