is a Professor of Anesthesiology at UNC in the clinical division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. She completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She is certified by the National Board of Echocardiography in advanced perioperative echocardiography and serves as the Director of Perioperative Echocardiography at UNC. She heads the echocardiography simulation sessions within the department as well as at the annual Thoracic Surgery Directors Association Boot Camp. She has published and presented her research on simulation training in echocardiography at several national and international meetings. Her interests include incorporation of echocardiography simulation into clinical scenario development for resident education.
