Fostering Medical Humanism Through Faculty Role Models

Program Details

Passing the Torch is a faculty development program uniquely suited to Clinician Educator faculty to develop further patient care and teaching skills with a person-centered model. Participants will be expected to attend bi-weekly sessions from October 2023 through June 2024. Depending on the size of the group, these meetings will be virtual and/or in person. Timing will depend upon the availability of the group.

Participants will also work on a ‘passion project’ of their choice for a capstone to the course and can include, but is not limited to, a creative pursuit related to the practice of medicine, aspect of course evaluation, or seed for future education or research project.

Sessions, generally at lunch time, including critical reflection, participatory learning, written appreciative inquiry, and role-playing, among other techniques for building and honing clinical and teaching skills.  Here is a list of sample sessions.
