TIBBS

The Training Initiative in Biomedical and Biological Sciences (TIBBS) complements your research training to better prepare you for the career of your choice. We offer workshops and social events through-out the academic year such as:

  • The College Science Teaching Certificate Series
  • Professional Development workshops in leadership, public speaking and grant writing
  • TIBBS mentorship programs where you can mentor an undergraduate student or a first year graduate student
  • North Carolina DNA Day – a rewarding high school science outreach event
  • Career awareness events that inform you about both academic and non academic careers and provide opportunities to network with science professionals
  • Interactive events with local biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies
  • Social events like Ice Cream Fridays during the summer
