Jim Moore is a Dharmacon Products Specialist with Thermo Scientific.  In this presentation, he will provide experimental evidence for the use of (1) a good siRNA design algorithm for generation of siRNAs with the hightest level of knockdown, (2) pooling for highest specificity, and (3) unique chemical modifications to ensure high potency siRNAs. Validation of gene silencing and use of proper controls are crucial to the design of a good RNAi experiment. The experimental approaches presented will dramatically improve the quality and reliability of RNAi applications.

Topics discussed in this seminar:
• Introduction to RNAi Biology and Technologies
• Strategies to ensure the function, potency, and specificity of siRNA sequences
• Transfections
• Use of appropriate Controls
• New Technology for use of RNAi in hard to Transfect Cells
• In Vivo Applications
