The UNC Center for Structural Biology (CSB) is an integrated platform of expertise, education, and infrastructure for making structural biology available as a tool to the general researcher and represents one of the pillars of basic biomedical research. CSB has 6 associated cores that work together to advance structural biology efforts here at UNC:
- High-Throughput Peptide Synthesis
- Macromolecular Interactions Facility
- Macromolecular X-Ray Crystallography
- NMR Spectroscopy
- Protein Expression & Purification
- Structural Bioinformatics
Drs. Miley and Tripathy will work together as co-directors to drive the missions of the center as well as broaden the interests and visibility of its associated cores throughout campus and the surrounding community. Dr. Miley is currently a research assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Dr. Tripathy is a research professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics.
In addition to their duties as CSB administrators, Dr. Miley is also the core facility director of 2 center cores, the Macromolecular X-Ray Crystallography and the Protein Expression & Purification; and Dr. Tripathy is the core director of the Macromolecular Interactions Facility.
