Important Deadlines

 

YEAR ONE

  • Last week of August: Start Laboratory Rotation 1
  • First week of November: Start Laboratory Rotation 2
  • First week of February: Start Laboratory Rotation 3
  • No later than May 15: Selection of a Research Advisor

 

YEAR TWO

  • January thru March: Complete grant writing course and form 5 member thesis committee
  • March 15 thru April 15: Submit specific aims to thesis committee for feedback and approval
  • By June 15: Oral Comprehensive Exam (final proposal must be submitted to thesis committee no later than 1 week prior to exam)

 

YEAR THREE

  • October: Written Comprehensive Exam
  • By December 15: First annual thesis committee meeting

 

YEAR FOUR

  • By December 15: Second annual thesis committee meeting
