Health Issues of the Mature WomanMost women now live well beyond menopause and are therefore faced with health issues that accompany the aging process. As the number of postmenopausal women continues to increase, it is imperative that ongoing biomedical research focus on the concerns unique to this period of life. The research of the following mentors is aimed at such issues, including cancers of aging, cardiovascular disease, and urogynecologic disorders. This group of mentors further illustrates the interdisciplinary nature of the research environment present at UNC. |
