Prevention and Intervention

Many of the research programs at UNC are aimed at prevention and appropriate intervention in specific target areas that relate to women's health.  These include programs to study alcohol and drug abuse, violence against women, infectious diseases, preterm delivery, and GI disorders.  This theme encompasses the work of many of our identified mentors and spans a wide variety of disciplines.  The multilevel institutional support of these endeavors signifies UNC's commitment to the development of effective strategies for prevention and intervention.
