RESEARCH INTERESTS:

My research interests lie in the area of reproductive and minority health, specifically in the area of maternal nutritional status and how it affects birth outcomes. The complex relationship among the many factors that determine birth outcomes and the subsequent health of the infant requires that the research work be addressed by an interdisciplinary approach. I have always been involved in a multidisciplinary team and feel that it is only in this way that we can truly begin to understand complex problems such as prematurity, fetal programming and racial disparities that exist in reproductive outcomes.
