As part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and the Department of Surgery, the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center provides rigorous training for medical students, general surgery residents, burn fellows, military personnel, and all areas of safety, emergency and rescue personnel.
Burn surgery rotations are available to third and fourth year medical students at the School of Medicine and visiting four year medical students. Students learn about all aspects of patient care through burn surgery clerkships and fourth year courses.
Burn surgery fellows gain multidisciplinary training to treat all the complex medical problems burn patients experience. Fellows receive intensive clinical training as well as engage in ongoing research projects.
