Resources & Links
There are many resources available for those who are living with a burn injury and their families, friends, and caretakers. Here are some that we have found most helpful. Peer Support Groups and EventsVictim 2 VictorThis group meets in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. World Burn CongressEvery year, the Phoenix Society, in an effort to support burn survivors and burn care professionals, holds an international conference in the United States or Canada. The three-day conference provides opportunities to meet new people, share stories and experiences, and learn more about advances in burn recovery. Many of the attendees, which include burn survivors, their families, care givers, burn care professionals, firefighters, and volunteers, describe the event as life changing with the many stories of hope and courage. The North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center has been proud to co-host this conference twice, in 2004 and in 2008. Some financial support is available through the Phoenix Society. More information on the upcoming event.
